EyeSeeVision Virtual Guided Tour
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q) What is the EyeSeeVision (ESV) Virtual Guided Tour (VGT) of the San Jose Marriott ?

A) The ESV VGT of the San Jose Marriott is a Flash based application which allows you to walk through eight Viewspaces located at the San Jose Marriott. While exploring the Viewspaces you can also listen to a guided tour by the General Manager, Clifton Clark.

Q) What is a Viewspace ?

A) A Viewspace is a region of space containing at least one Viewpoint. You can find a list of the Viewspaces in the pulldown menu below the main window, or as a purple icon in the blueprint or main window. Clicking on a purple icon (or selecting a name from the pulldown menu) will take you to a new Viewspace. The San Jose Marriott currently offers the following Viewspaces: Lobby, Guest Room, Ballroom / Pre-function, Concierge Lounge and Deck, Presidential Suite, Health Club, Arcadia Restaurant, and the One Connection.

Q) What is a Viewpoint ?

A) Each Viewpoint is a perspective point of a Viewspace. Your current Viewpoint is denoted by a red icon in the blueprint. Other Viewpoints are denoted by green icons in the blueprint or in the main window. Clicking on another Viewpoint will change your perspective to the location of the new Viewpoint. All Viewpoints allow you to pan left and right by clicking and dragging in the main window.

Q) How do I navigate through the ESV VGT ?

A) Simply place your cursor on the main window (the window that shows you the Viewspace), click and drag horizontally to pan left or right. For best results start at the extreme left of the content window and drag to the extreme right or start at the extreme right and drag left. That will ensure that you see the entire Viewpoint.

Q) What do the glowing green, red, and purple buttons do ?

A) The buttons are located onscreen in the main window and also in the blueprint. The red icon denotes your current position in the Viewspace (i.e. "You are here"), Green buttons allow you to change to a new Viewpoint, and the purple buttons allow you to navigate from one Viewspace to another.

Q) What does the pulldown menu let me do ?

A) The pulldown is a top level list of available Viewspaces. This is the easiest way to move from one Viewspace to another. Since not all Viewspaces are connected by purple buttons, use of the pulldown menu is recommended to navigate between non-contiguous Viewspaces. For example a Viewspace on the ground floor (Lobby) to a Viewspace on the 26th floor (Concierge Lounge).

Q) What does the compass do ?

A) The compass displays the direction that you are facing as you pan left and right. The shaded green portion of the compass shows you the range that you can pan for each shot. This is helpful to let you know if you've seen all that a Viewpoint has to offer or if there is more to see.

Q) What does the "?" button do ?

A) The "?" buttons displays the Legend for the ESV VGT.

Q) What does the "pan" button do ?

Q) What does the "i" button do ?

If there are multiple pages simply keep your mouse curser over the icon and the additional pages will appear in a few seconds.

Q) What does the "R" button do?

A) Clicking on the "R" button opens a popup window for the reservation system of Marriott where you can make an on-line reservation.

Q) What does the "M" button do ?
